Well known for her Pen and Ink, or "crosshatching" pictures, many of her works feature children and animals as they step into the world of "wonder". Although much of her day is spent chasing her three boys and working along side husband Marcel on their mixed farm/ranch operation, she still manages to spend 6 hours per day drawing. Her diligence has paid off. In 1993 she was the "featured artist" at the Calgary Stampede Art Show and in the spring of 1996 was accepted as a signature member of the Western Academy of Women Artists. Busy with a demanding schedule, she strives to produce between 15 to 20 original pieces each year along with her commissioned works. Her originals and prints are found in many collectors' homes across Canada, and in the United States, England, Germany, Japan and Australia. Besides her pen and ink, Lorraine also works with acrylics, oils, watercolor and colored pencil. |
